Drunk Driving - Covers any drinking and driving offense as a general term. Below are the more common serious driving offenses
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs - M.C.L. 257.625(1) Can be used interchangeably with "Drunk Driving" under
Michigan Compiled Laws Sec. 257.625
Driving While Impaired - M.C.L. 257.625(3) Lesser offense than Drunk Driving - less points and usually with a shorter driver license suspension period.
Zero Tolerance - M.C.L. 257.625(6) Any Person under 21 Years of Age who operates a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level between .02 and .08 whether impaired or not.
Child Endangerment - M.C.L. 257.625(7) Driving while intoxicated or impaired with a person less than 16 years old in the car.
Driving With Drugs in System - M.C.L. 257.625(8) New Law - Driving with any amount of Schedule 1 Narcotics in the body. Schedule 1 is defined in M.C.L. 333.7212
Operating Under the Influence Causing Serious Injury or Death - M.C.L. 257.625(4) or (6) Drinking, drugged or impaired driving proven with a death or serious injury caused due to impairment by alcohol or drugs.
Reckless Driving - M.C.L. 257.626 Driving a motor vehicle in such a negligent or dangerous manner endangering or likely to endanger persons or property
Vehicular Manslaughter - M.C.L. 750.321 A combination of reckless driving and a death caused by the reckless driving.
